Bucharest Football Project Phase II: Score Against Pain

Saturday, June 13th 2009, COS participated at a charity football tournament hosted by FC Steaua Bucharest.
Entitled "Bucharest Football Project Phase II: Score Against Pain", the competition was organized with the aim to raise funds for Hospice Casa Sperantei, a local NGO providing palliative care for the terminally ill children and adults in Romania.
The event brought together 13 teams from companies in the local construction and real estate industries: Alukönigstahl, Bouygues, Cushman & Wakefield, DTZ Echinox, Epstein Architecture, Gardiner & Theobald, MEP Construct, Procema Engineering, Tebodin, Summa Construction, and Corporate Office Solutions.
Cushman & Wakefield are the winners of this edition. COS ranked second, while the bronze cup went to French contractor Bouygues.
The event was organized by construction and property consultancy company Gardiner & Theobald who initiated the friendly football tournament for the construction industry in November 2008.
Collected funds from the 13 participating companies will help Hospice Casa Sperantei provide over 300 home visits to patients they are looking after.
Hospice Casa Sperantei was founded in 1992 through a partnership agreement with the foundation Hospices of Hope UK. At present, the organization operates through centres in Bucharest and Brasov and so far, 7,000 patients in Romania have benefited from palliative services provided by Casa Sperantei.
